Bryan Whittington learned the tricks of the trade, from the bottom up. He began his career as a carpenter for Whittington Construction in 1979, and developed an eye for detail and managing teams, specifying materials, and managing projects from start to finish. After 8 years in the family business and receiving his degree in Residential Development from University of Maryland in 1985, Bryan began a 14 year career working with the region's premier custom home builders including Mitchell and Best, Miller and Smith, and W.C & A. N. Miller Companies, projects that Bryan has managed have won many awards.

Bryan's long-term tenure with regional builders enabled him to utilize and perfect his design skills, management, and budgeting skills. Building on his architectural drafting and design abilities, extensive knowledge of residential construction and carpentry, and landscape design and materials knowledge

Commemorating the new millenium, Bryan realized his lifelong dream of starting his own company, building on the family legacy. It is no accident that this new venture was christened Whittington Design & Build in July 2000. The name embraces Bryan's vision, mission, and modus operandi for designing and building custom homes, from the ground up.
